Reconcile the money actually received
Separate sales, confirmed collections and bills still awaiting payment. Compare the supported payment-mode totals with the evidence available at the counter. A served order may still have an unpaid bill; completing kitchen work does not prove that cash or a digital payment was received.
Use the same reporting basis
Record the date range and business-day boundary used for each report. Keep cancellations, discounts and refunds visible when reviewing totals. For multiple outlets, agree on these definitions first so that managers compare the same activity instead of differently configured periods.
Hand over exceptions with an owner
List unresolved bills, delivery issues and operational follow-ups separately from the sales summary. Give each one an owner and a next action. The next shift should be able to see what remains open without reconstructing the previous evening from chats or memory.
