RESTAURANT OPERATIONS

Keep the right details with every kitchen order.

Follow an order from the table to the KOT and final bill. Find where items, quantities or instructions are repeated, changed or lost, then test a clearer hand-off with your team.

PRACTICAL WORKFLOWS

A checklist for your next service

Keep instructions attached to the item

Separate a kitchen instruction from a general guest note. When testing a change, use a dish with a modifier, a quantity greater than one and a clear preparation request. Check the guest cart, staff order details and KOT together. If one screen loses the instruction, investigate that hand-off before service.

Define how corrections travel

Decide who can correct an order and how the kitchen learns that the original ticket has changed. A verbal message alone leaves room for two versions of the order. Confirm the supported correction process in your system and train the team on the exact next action.

Review causes instead of blaming people

Keep a short record of the error, where it was noticed and which detail was missing. Look for repeated item names, unclear modifiers or late updates. Choose one recurring cause and test a change during the next shift. Review a small sample again to check whether the improvement worked.
